Abstrak

This brief summarizes key lessons from the implementation of TAKE (Transfer Anggaran Kabupaten Berbasis Ekologi) in North Luwu, South Sulawesi, Indonesia, an ecological fiscal transfer designed to incentivize village-level environmental stewardship and sustainable development. As a form of EFT, TAKE encourages better ecological performance while aligning village priorities with environmental and economic goals. Effective implementation requires strong data systems, continuous capacity support, and active stakeholder engagement. Ensuring long-term sustainability will depend on local government readiness and collaboration with development and private-sector partners. TAKE also offers a consistent funding mechanism to advance the district’s sustainable cocoa development roadmap through capacity building, infrastructure, and community empowerment.
